IVANHOE MINES is looking for a Senior Exploration Geologist. Ivanhoe Mines is a leading Canadian mining company committed to becoming a global leader in the supply of critical resources required to transition our world to a low-carbon, renewable future.
Ivanhoe is focused on developing and expanding its four principal mining and exploration projects in Southern Africa: the Kamoa-Kakula copper mining complex in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the Platreef palladium-rhodium-platinum-nickel-copper-gold discovery in South Africa, the extensive redevelopment and upgrading of the historic Kipushi zinc-copper-germanium-silver mine in the DRC, and exploration on the Western Foreland, near Kamoa-Kakula. Play your part in our team succeeding by providing strategic and technical support to the exploration teams across the Ivanhoe Group of Companies, with a particular focus on strata-bound, sediment-hosted copper systems where minerals systems approach and basin-scale processes are critical to unlocking exploration success.
Work closely with the site Geology teams to ensure that the most useful and pertinent information is extracted from existing Ivanhoe exploration data, utilizing best practice methods, in line with Ivanhoe organizational and corporate governance standards, with the aim of enhancing Ivanhoe's effectiveness of tier one ore discoveries.
