Senior Estimator (Renewable Ipp Projects) - Fourways

Qualified QS / Electrical Engineer with minimum 5 years Tendering / Estimating on Renewable OPP Projects. Effectively assess all relevant tender documentation, specifications and scope of work.

Responsibilities include:

1. Management of proposal efforts in conjunction with Business Development, Procurement, Engineering and others as may be required.
2. Interact with internal departments for accurate documentation submissions and costing.
3. Effectively prepare and supply clients with all relevant documentation and data required.
4. Effectively hand over accurate, final costing to Estimating Executive.
5. Assist the Estimating Executive to compile risk documentation for Risk Committee review.
6. Understand and comply with taxation, levies, and duties imposed on the contractor in cross border countries.
7. Ensure the BOQ is accurately compiled and meets all contractual requirements.
8. Compile tender summaries and finalization pack, including sub-contractors and man-hour norms.
9. Analyse and break up layout and assembly drawings to the lowest component level for pricing purposes.
10. Coordinate the complete tender processes.
11. Extensive material and technical knowledge on Distribution and transmission systems.
12. Liaise with Engineering consultants, suppliers, clients and distributors.
13. Monitor projects with project managers to ensure that the tender strategy is understood and followed.
14. Summarize structures and develop a database of planned or actual costs.
15. Compilation of required tender documents, drawings and information.
16. Scrutinize tender documents i.e. scope of work, budget value of project and resources required.
17. Conduct site inspections and program the work to be executed and verify quantities and materials required.
