Senior Estimator / QS

Our client is looking for an astute Senior Estimator / QS who will be responsible for analysis, net variance and ad-hoc activities aligned with the project implementation process. The Senior Estimator / QS will be responsible for consulting with key stakeholders to formulate project estimates, and to report at regular intervals in terms of cost effectiveness.

Key Performance Areas :

The Senior Estimator / QS will be reporting directly to the Cost Management Lead in performing the assigned duties in terms of the project implementation process for site rebranding.

Role and Responsibilities :

• Preparation and estimates budget costs by evaluating plans and specifications
• Assistance with preparation of budgets for bulk production
• Conduct research to obtain data on labour costs, materials, production times, etc.
• Working on final account for client
• Review offers and quotes by subcontractors in relation to procurement
• Prepare estimates for time, cost, materials, and labour to be used for purposes such as planning, organizing and scheduling work
• Assess cost effectiveness procurement detail as the project develops

Qualifications and Experience :

• Relevant tertiary qualification (Construction studies / Quantity Surveying)
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience leading a team
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams
• Project management experience and use of project management software
• Ability to critically analyse project needs and issues, and report to team lead
• Ability to liaise with key stakeholders on site
