About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Environmental Engineer to join their fully remote team. This critical role focuses on ensuring environmental compliance, conducting audits, and developing sustainability strategies for complex industrial and infrastructure projects. You will collaborate virtually with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal project teams to assess environmental impacts and implement effective management plans. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and compliance audits for various projects.
• Develop and implement Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and sustainability strategies.
• Advise clients and project teams on environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and best practices.
• Monitor and report on environmental performance, ensuring adherence to legal obligations and company policies.
• Collaborate effectively with regulatory bodies, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams in a virtual environment .
• Prepare detailed technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and government agencies.
• Identify opportunities for environmental improvement and resource efficiency in project design and operations.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in environmental consulting, compliance, and auditing.
• In-depth knowledge of South African environmental legislation (e.g., NEMA) and international standards.
• Proven experience in conducting EIAs, EMPs, and risk assessments.
• Excellent report writing, communication, and virtual presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and client relationships remotely.
• Professional registration (e.g., Pr. Eng., Pr. Sci. Nat.) is advantageous.
