Advtech, Paarl’s enterprise technology partner, seeks a Senior Systems Architect to design, oversee, and optimize integrated IT systems across farm management software and data processing platforms.

The role emphasizes interoperability, scalability, and resilience, requiring strong expertise in networks, OS, virtualization, and cloud ecosystems. Office-based collaboration with operations teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in systems design, architecture and implementation.
• Proven track record designing multi‑tier, complex systems.
• Strong knowledge of networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux) and virtualization.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments.
• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with middleware and various communication protocols.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and strategic thinking skills.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Experience in the agricultural technology sector is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect complex, integrated IT systems and solutions.
• Define system architecture standards, principles and patterns.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and business needs.
• Oversee integration of hardware and software components.
