We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Underwriter to strengthen our facultative reinsurance division. The ideal candidate brings over a decade of experience in engineering (re)insurance, with a proven ability to assess complex risks and develop tailored reinsurance solutions. Your core focus will be to underwrite and grow a profitable portfolio, leveraging your technical acumen and regional market insights.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage and expand a profitable facultative engineering portfolio across Sub-Saharan Africa.
2. Analyze and evaluate risks to provide sound reinsurance solutions in line with internal guidelines.
3. Cultivate senior-level relationships with key clients and brokers to secure new business opportunities.
4. Act as a technical mentor to junior underwriters and provide internal training and market insights.
5. Conduct risk surveys and prepare detailed technical reports as needed.
6. Support treaty underwriting with engineering expertise.
7. Deliver high-value client engagement sessions, including workshops and seminars.
8. Monitor market and portfolio performance trends to inform strategic decisions.

What You Bring

1. A BSc in Engineering and at least 5 years of hands-on industry experience.

3. Fluent in both English and French.
