MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee day to day operations of the facility.
  • Coordinate delivery of site services facilities and related contracts.
  • Track maintenance and repairs of equipment (both mechanical, instrumentation & electrical) records and equipment inventory.
  • Design a Critical Equipment Major Maintenance Plan.
  • Constant communication with other sites to improve common maintenance jobs cost and learning.
  • Constant communication with indirect Procurement.
  • Self guidance and decision making.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of systems and equipment; monitor fire alarm control panels and other emergency equipment such as fire extinguishers, fire pumps, emergency showers, emergency exit systems & alarms.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of buildings and yard/grounds.
  • Maintain and keep records of engineering vehicle service and use.
  • Supervise and instruct site services operators and technicians responsible for boilers, compressors, air conditioning & HVAC systems, water plant, effluent & waste management, forklifts on tasks, safety, policies & procedures.
  • Supervise and evaluate staff; complete employee reviews and provide feedback; maintain accurate records of employee attendance and timesheets; discipline personnel when necessary and appropriate. Interview candidates; onboard and train new hires.
  • Initiate and oversee continuous improvement projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company or government regulations (safety etc); ensure compliance with contracted service level agreements (SLAs); maintain up-to-date drawings & plans, municipal, and state licensing.
  • Communicate with customers regarding products and services.

LEVEL OF EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
  • Instrumentation related qualification will be an advantage.

LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an FMCG environment/High speed packaging lines/Utilities.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

  • Exemplary analytical problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Computer Literacy (SAP) & Proficiency with systems.
  • Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation aptitude.
  • People management & leadership skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of health, safety and regulatory standards & practices.
  • Reading and comprehension of technical documents.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to nurture effective professional relationships with staff and clients.
  • Confidence to thrive under pressure.
  • Professional demeanor and attitude.
  • Decision making.
  • Team Player.
  • Willing to work overtime hours.
