Job summary

Borbet SA in South Africa seeks a seasoned Head of Engineering & Maintenance to lead the engineering and maintenance functions at the Gqeberha site. You will provide strategic direction, drive capital investments, and embed Lean and continuous-improvement practices to ensure safe, reliable and cost-effective operations.

The role requires an engineering background, 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, senior leadership capability, and strong stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical engineering.
• Postgraduate qualification in engineering or business is advantageous.
• Formal training in Lean Management/Continuous Improvement is desirable.
• GCC or professional registration will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and maintenance strategy aligned with plant objectives.
• Manage capital investment, CAPEX budgets, and projects from business case to commissioning.
• Drive asset reliability, maintenance planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and maintain documentation for processes, projects and changes.
