Job Description
As a Senior Electrical Foreman, you will be responsible for maintaining and assisting in the operation of electrical installations, equipment, and systems according to sound engineering practices and equipment specifications. Your role will encompass both underground and surface fixed plant operations.
Your Role Will Include But Not Limited To
- Contribute to a culture of zero harm by adhering to all requirements as laid down by legislation and health, safety, environmental and security policies and procedures, and by the application of specific instructions to own work area and task completion.
- Plan activities in accordance with production schedules and allocation of resources as required.
- Investigate, diagnose and perform trade related maintenance and repair of electrical infrastructure, equipment and machinery according to the maintenance requirements.
- Perform electrical infrastructure and equipment over-inspection on work done by artisans and operators.
- Ensure compliance to the business' engineering planning standards, guidelines, specifications and best practices.
- Co-ordinate electrical infrastructure and equipment installations and maintenance with internal and external clients and service providers to ensure the timeous allocation of resources and that due process is followed and required measures are taken to ensure execution takes place according to plan.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 certificate or relevant national NQF level qualification
- Trade Certificate: Electrical or Instrumentation qualification
- Code B/Code 8 Driver's License
- A supervisory qualification is a requirement
Role-specific Knowledge & Experience
- 5 Years' experience as an Electrical Foreman in the U/G and surface Electrical Maintenance Environment. With relative maintenance experience in maintaining U/G and surface Electrical Infrastructure.
- Minimum of 5 years previous experience as an Electrical Supervisor / Foreman in the installation and maintenance environment of U/G and surface Electrical Infrastructure.
- Experience in the following equipment: winders, shaft systems, main ventilation fans, bulk air cooler (BAC) & fridge plant, pumps & conveyor belt starters, gulley box installations, mini subs, transformers, substation in underground and surface environment.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Budgeting and cost control.
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in SAP will be advantageous
