Placements24 is seeking an Energy Trading Analyst to join our client’s commercial team in Bloemfontein. You will monitor energy markets, build models to forecast prices, and assess risk exposures to guide trading decisions and portfolio optimization.

The role emphasizes quantitative analysis, data-driven insights, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support strategic trading initiatives in the Free State.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or related field.
• Min 5 years in energy trading, market analysis, or similar finance role.
• Strong knowledge of power, gas and oil markets and trading fundamentals.
• Proficient in Excel VBA, Python and R for modeling and analysis.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and presentation skills.

Responsibilities
