Job summary

Arup is seeking a Senior Project Manager with expertise in Energy and Infrastructure to lead complex projects across the Built Environment. This role requires managing the full project lifecycle, including stakeholder engagement, design reviews, construction oversight and quality assurance.

Based in Johannesburg or Cape Town, you will collaborate with clients and Arup teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet regulatory requirements, manage risks, and drive performance across

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration; a master’s degree is advantageous.
• Relevant certifications such as CEM or SACPCMP.
• Experience in the renewable energy sector (wind, solar, and other sustainable power projects).

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project execution plans to ensure successful delivery.
• Collaborate with clients and Arup teams to integrate technical activities and achieve project objectives.
• Ensure compliance with design standards, legal regulations, environmental requirements, and permits.
• Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining relationships with governments, communities, suppliers, contractors, and team members.
• Drive quality control measures to meet performance objectives.
• Oversee project progress, reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
• Apply energy and infrastructure knowledge leveraging Arup’s knowledge network.
