Job description

Our client in the IoT industry is in search of a Senior Electronics Engineer at their offices in Randpark Ridge, Randburg. The Senior Electronics Engineer will be responsible for designing, testing, and maintaining electrical equipment and systems.

The job incumbent may be required to travel occasionally, as well as work overtime.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Firmware Design and testing
  2. Technical support
  3. Test and validate circuits for functionality and performance
  4. Write test reports, operational documentation, and other technical documents
  5. Coordinate with manufacturing support personnel to conduct prototype runs for products
  6. Communicate with company personnel on projects, priorities, and timetables as required
  7. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
  8. Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used
  9. Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and customers to identify and solve problems
  10. Perform other duties as assigned by management or the board
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • A degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, or a related field
  • 5 years' experience in micro-controller, embedded system, & board design
  • Proficiency in C / C++ programming skills
  • Knowledge in PCB CAD systems like Altium is a plus
  • Knowledge in embedded OS, such as FreeRTOS, is a plus
  • Knowledge in scripting languages is a plus
  • Familiarity with software life cycles & processes
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong administration and documentation skills
