Job description

Our client in the IoT industry is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer at their offices in Randpark Ridge, Randburg. The Senior Electronics Engineer will be responsible for designing, testing, and maintaining electrical equipment and systems.

The role may require occasional travel and overtime work.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Firmware design and testing
  2. Providing technical support
  3. Testing and validating circuits for functionality and performance
  4. Writing test reports, operational documentation, and other technical documents
  5. Coordinating with manufacturing support personnel for prototype runs
  6. Communicating with company personnel regarding projects, priorities, and timetables
  7. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
  8. Maintaining accurate records of work performed and materials used
  9. Collaborating with engineers, technicians, and customers to solve problems
  10. Performing other duties as assigned by management
Desired Experience & Qualifications
  1. A degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, or a related field
  2. At least 5 years of experience in micro-controller, embedded systems, and board design
  3. Proficiency in C / C++ programming
  4. Knowledge of PCB CAD systems like Altium is a plus
  5. Knowledge of embedded OS such as FreeRTOS is a plus
  6. Knowledge of scripting languages is a plus
  7. Familiarity with software life cycles and processes
  8. Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  9. Strong interpersonal skills
  10. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  11. Good written and verbal communication skills
  12. Strong administration and documentation skills
