Position : Senior Electronic Engineer - RF / SDR

Incomar is an aerospace and defence company based in Centurion, South Africa.

We are continuously expanding our specialised product development and flight operations capabilities.

The group was established in South Africa in , with its origins in military aircraft weapons and avionics integration and flight testing.

The company is well established in the local and international industry, with a strong capability in several specialist areas, including:

• Systems Design, Development, and Integration.

• Flight Test Execution and Support.

Incomar is looking for motivated individuals to perform detailed RF & SDR designs for modules used in Radio Communications, including electronic hardware & PCB design, firmware & software design, testing, verification, validation, and integration of the hardware into various systems and platforms.

Required Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic or Computer Engineering; Master's preferred.

Required Skills and Experience :

• 7+ years of electronic hardware / firmware development experience.
• RF & Electronic hardware design & development skills.
• In-depth knowledge and experience in RF & SDR PCB design.
• Knowledge of Communication and Modulation Schemes.
• Hardware testing, debugging & integration skills.
• Product development and system engineering skills involving all aspects of the "V" life cycle and the system engineering management process.
• Proficient in requirements management.
• Configuration and product lifecycle management skills.
• Proficient in required design & simulation packages (e.g., insert specific packages here).
• Proficient in MS Office.

Preferred Skills and Experience :

• Military, Defence Industry and/or Avionics development experience is preferable.
• Experience in PCB development using Altium Designer.
• Knowledge or experience in the RTCA DO- design process.
• Knowledge or experience in hardware environmental qualification to military and civilian standards (RTCA DO-, MIL-STD-, MIL-STD-, MIL-STD-, etc).
• System safety engineering skills.
• Logistical support engineering skills.
• Exposure to software version control tools.

Responsibilities :

• Design of communication systems for dynamic environments.
• Performing hardware, firmware, and modulation scheme design activities, including electrical, electronic, mechanical, and thermal aspects.
• Conducting hardware development according to the "V" life cycle and system engineering management process.
• Electrical wiring design for electrical systems & sub-systems.
• Writing and maintaining specifications related to electrical/electronic/sub-system development activities.
• Developing and maintaining test and verification documentation.
• Hardware interface documentation for systems and sub-systems.
• Executing and documenting compliance, verification, validation, and qualification activities.
• Configuration and version control of designs.
• Simulation, data analysis, and report writing.
• Ensuring customer requirements and standards are met.
• Planning and executing tasks within budgets and timescales.
• Contributing to process and tool improvements in hardware design and development.
