Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Systems Integration Engineer for a remote-first role in South Africa. You will integrate electrical subsystems, define system requirements, and collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams to deliver cohesive, high-performance platforms.

The role emphasizes strong knowledge of CAN, Modbus, SPI, I2C protocols, and extensive experience with embedded systems and system integration. A remote, nationwide engagement across South Africa is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on systems integration.
• Proven experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and digital/analog circuit design.
• Strong understanding of communication protocols and bus systems.
• Experience with systems modeling and simulation tools.
• Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the integration of electrical subsystems including power management, sensor networks, and control modules.
• Develop and implement system architecture designs for optimal performance and reliability.
• Define and document system requirements, interface specifications, and integration test plans.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues across hardware and software components.
