KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducting initial audits to ascertain the scope of work
- Assessing and preparing fee proposals
- Performing detailed engineering design and specifications
- Developing schedules of quantities
- Creating tender documentation and participating in tender adjudication
- Handling contract documentation
- Project management, including: cost control, payment certificates, project scheduling, and recording of minutes
- Testing and commissioning
- Creating as-built documentation and drawings
- Occasional travelling will be expected
QUALIFICATIONS AND INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:
- Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) / Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) in Electrical or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 years' extensive work experience in electrical & instrumentation design
- Experience in petrochemicals and/or wastewater treatment works is essential
- Exposure in chemical and food industries is an advantage
CANDIDATE TO ADVISE ON SPECIFIC EXPOSURE WITHIN THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES:
- MV reticulation and protection
- Standby generator control and synchronization power
- Earthing & lightning protection
- LV electrical protection
- Motor control – various applications
- Lighting – simulations & design
- Diversified load calculations
- Instrumentation selection and associated loop drawings
- Communications networks
- Design of process control and automation
- Hazardous area analysis
SOFTWARE PROFICIENCY:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical design and drafting is essential
- Strong proficiency in MS Office suite is essential
- Proficiency in project management software is advantageous
SOFT SKILLS:
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
