Senior Electrical Engineer / Engineering Manager

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer / Engineering Manager with an automation background in process plants.

Prior hydrometallurgical plant exposure is preferable, along with about 10 years of experience.

Business management skills are also preferable, as the person will need to handle business decisions and participate in company business strategy and development. The business encompasses design, manufacture, and after-sales support of wet chemical analyzers for hydrometallurgical plants.

Requirements and Duties

1. Proven innovator with a strong academic background.
2. An Executive Management Program course (e.g., Wits MAP or Gibs PMD or similar) is very desirable.
3. Proven technical leadership skills.
4. Proven business management skills; the successful candidate will grow to be involved in all aspects of the business.
5. Management of technical personnel, including the annual review process.
6. Ensure safety standards are defined and met.
7. Develop technical team's careers and training levels.
8. Technical team scheduling and productivity.
9. Project management for new product development.
10. Project management of site installation and commissioning work.
11. Perform design functions for new and existing systems.
12. Provide production technical oversight of systems, sub-systems, and assemblies.
13. Research and Development for product improvement.
14. Conceptualize new products, develop prototypes to MVP stage, and present business cases for further development.
15. Responsibility for hardware and software development for new and existing analyzers.
16. Configuration management and IP protection.
17. Plan and implement process improvements.
18. Provide remote and on-site support and servicing of PAS analyzer systems.
19. Oversee installation, commissioning, and training functions on customer sites.
20. Maintain excellent customer relations and meet customer satisfaction targets.
21. Deliver technical papers at conferences.
22. Handle documentation and quality control functions.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• MUST HAVE A B.Sc. Electrical Engineering degree.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience.

Package & Remuneration

Up to 2 million rand per annum negotiable plus bonus.
