Job summary

A multinational renewable energy firm in Cape Town is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and engineering of utility-scale renewable projects. You will be responsible for managing grid connection studies, optimizing plant design, and providing technical leadership. A BEng/BSc in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of experience in renewable energy are required. Registration as PR.Eng with ECSA is preferred.

Qualifications

Are you a Senior Electrical Engineer with a passion for renewable energy and experience in utility-scale projects?
My client, a multinational renewable energy developer and Independent Power Producer (IPP), is seeking a highly skilled engineer to join their team and drive the success of large-scale solar, wind, and hybrid energy projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design, review, and engineering of utility-scale renewable projects from feasibility to commissioning.

• Manage grid connection studies and utility liaison, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.

• Provide technical leadership across multi-disciplinary project teams.

• Optimize plant design for performance, safety, and reliability.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• BEng / BSc Electrical Engineering (Master’s advantageous).

• PR.Eng registration with ECSA (preferred).

• 5+ years’ experience in renewable energy, power generation, or utility-scale electrical projects.

• Proven track record in grid integration and utility interface management.

• Excellent communication skills and a solution-driven mindset.
