Job summary

RPO Recruitment is seeking a Senior Professional Electrical Engineer for a part-time, 10-month contract based in Gauteng. The role covers electrical design, specifications, project support, and commissioning across commercial, residential, and substations facilities.

You will lead technical evaluations, condition assessments, procurement reviews, and site supervision, ensuring compliance with South African engineering standards and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree required (BSc Eng. or BTech in Electrical Engineering).
• Professional registration as Pr Eng with the Engineering Council of South Africa is required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical engineering environment; strong design, project, and facilities maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering design for real estate and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare scopes of work, technical specs, and evaluation criteria.
• Develop concept designs, layouts, and project drawings.
• Conduct electrical condition assessments on commercial, residential, and substations facilities.
• Compile engineering reports and project documentation.
• Perform procurement evaluations and prepare technical evaluation reports.
• Provide project management support throughout execution.
• Oversee construction, testing, and commissioning.
• Review Certificates of Compliance (COCs) where required.
• Support facilities maintenance teams with technical assessments.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical supervision.
