Senior Electrical Engineer Engineering Generation Utility - Cape Town South Africa

Our client is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer based in Cape Town South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards their vision – Improving their future.

As the Senior Electrical Engineer you will work in the development, design, and execution of renewable energy projects by managing or leading allocated tasks and design activities towards delivering technical compliant projects. Using your experience and knowledge, you will be responsible to ensure all technical / contractual requirements are considered and implemented towards the successful completion of the projects.

Working in a multidisciplinary team environment, you’ll get the opportunity to work closely with other experienced team members as well as developing the next generation of world-class engineers leading the energy transition to a sustainable future.

The ideal candidate has experience in the design, structuring, and execution of utility scale PV projects. You are a curious person always looking for new opportunities and solutions to improve our next exciting project through analysis, simulations, and integrating the latest technologies to maximize performance and reliability.

Qualifications And Competencies

• Degree in Electrical / Electro Mechanical / Electronical Engineering
• 7 years electrical / Electro Mechanical engineering experience. This includes the following:
• 5 years renewable energy experience
• 3 years project environment experience
• 3 years distribution and reticulation design experience
• Master’s degree in engineering (ideally)
• Utility Scale PV Project design and execution
• Exposure to High Voltage Networks and SubStations

• Able to apply sound Engineering Design principles and best practice to renewable energy facilities related to PV and BESS technologies in particular.
• Apply understanding of contract structures and interfaces to develop technical schedules
• Analysis and simulation of multitechnology systems to forecast energy production
• Apply clear communication and business understanding when coordinating with different stakeholders
