Role Purpose

The HV / MV Estimating Engineer will perform tasks related to the technical aspects of the estimating and tendering process for Transmission & Distribution, Power, and Renewables projects.

This role involves working with a vibrant, agile, multi-functional team to deliver tenders on time, safely, within budget, and to the required quality and technical standards.

As a qualified Electrical Engineering Professional, you will carry out preliminary electrical design and engineering activities, support the estimating team technically, engage with equipment vendors, and assist with technical submissions.

You will be part of the T&D Business Unit Electrical Engineering team, reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, and will collaborate with estimating, engineering, construction, commercial, and management teams on projects in Ireland and the UK.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Lead technical estimating/tendering efforts for the T&D department, identifying value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
2. Understand the project's commercial fundamentals.
3. Collaborate with various teams to prepare tender documents and technical proposals.
4. Coordinate with sub-consultants and suppliers to ensure compliance and cost-effectiveness.
5. Develop electrical designs, layouts, single line diagrams, and cable calculations for tenders.
6. Coordinate electrical and civil engineering interfaces during the tender process.
7. Review project specifications, assess risks, and assist in clarifications and RFIs.
8. Produce electrical engineering deliverables for tenders and review tender programs.
9. Support the commercial aspects related to electrical equipment in tenders.
10. Assist in transitioning successful tenders to live projects and identify new business opportunities.
11. Mentor junior engineers and ensure compliance with procedures and security policies.
