Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (High Voltage) to lead delivery of HV projects in Gauteng from concept to commissioning.

You will mentor junior engineers, engage with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with industry standards while managing risks and costs.

Qualifications

• BEng/BSc/BTech in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 7–10+ years of electrical engineering experience with a strong HV focus.
• Experience in HV substations, transmission & distribution networks.
• Experience across design, construction and commissioning phases.
• Pr. Eng registration is advantageous.
• Experience in energy, infrastructure, mining, industrial or renewables desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of high-voltage electrical engineering projects.
• Develop, review and approve HV drawings, calculations, specifications and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations and utility requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.

Senior HV Engineer - Gauteng | Permanent Role

We're partnering with a leading engineering and infrastructure organisation to appoint an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer (High Voltage) to join their team in Gauteng. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong professional to lead the delivery of complex HV projects from concept design through to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of high-voltage electrical engineering projects.


• Develop, review and approve HV drawings, calculations, specifications and technical documentation.


• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations and utility requirements.


• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.


• Engage with clients, contractors, utilities, consultants and multidisciplinary project teams.

Requirements

• Proven project exposure across design, construction and commissioning phases


• Professional Registration (Pr. Eng) advantageous


• Experience in energy, infrastructure, mining, industrial or renewable energy projects highly desirable
