Our client in the Engineering sector requires an Electrical Engineer to join their team in Gauteng
Core Purpose of the Role
The primary responsibility of this role is to execute and manage the technical design and power system studies for projects within the Section. You will support Professional Engineers, Project Managers, and other consultants by leading and executing grid studies using software such as PowerFactory, PSSE, and/or ETAP. Additionally, you will be involved in managing electrical infrastructure projects and supporting the development of team members.
Qualifications:
BEng, BSc, or BTech in Electrical Engineering (preferably with a focus on power systems).
Professional Registration with ECSA (compulsory).
Experience:
Minimum of 6 years of practical experience in electrical or consulting engineering, including exposure to the mining sector.
At least 3 years of experience in Power System Studies using tools like PowerFactory, ETAP, and CDEGS.
In-depth knowledge of substation equipment, structures, and conductors for voltages up to 500 kV.
Exposure to renewable energy system design (basic level).
Familiarity with LV and Secondary Plant systems (advantageous).
Experience with Overhead Line Design using PLS-CADD (advantageous).
Competent in project scheduling using MS Project.
Proficient in simulation tools such as EMT, PSCAD, and network simulation software (e.g., PowerFactory, ETAP, PSSE).
