Job Summary
As a Snr Electrical Engineer, you will offer your expertise in electrical engineering on various turnkey projects across the African continent.
You will be involved from the conceptual stage to enable accurate budgeting and project planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical consulting services to customers
- Produce and integrate engineering solutions/designs for asset creation at various project stages
- Interface with project managers and other engineering disciplines on design and implementation
- Conduct technical evaluations supporting planning, design, and construction
- Perform project administration: preparing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, and completing progress reports
- Design and implement pumping systems for water abstraction and water treatment plants, including piping, sedimentation tanks, flocculators, and chemical dosing systems
- Follow safe work practices and company guidelines for safety
- Design all mechanical structures of water treatment plants
Qualifications and Experience / Minimum Requirements
- B.Sc. or B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering; PrEng registration with ECSA
- Experience managing a team of junior engineers
- Minimum 15 years in engineering design, management, and construction
- At least 10 years' experience in electrical/mechanical design
- Extensive experience in design and construction of steel water pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, abstraction works, and water treatment plants
- Knowledge of Employee Equity Act, Labour laws, OHS Act, and design standards
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and relevant electrical and water design software
- Driver's license is essential
- Ensure ISO compliance in quality management
- Willingness to undertake inter-provincial and international site visits
