Job summary

Lesedi Nuclear Services Pty. Ltd. is seeking a mid-to-senior Electrical Engineer to lead the Electrical Engineering function on design projects.

You will deliver compliant, safe, technically sound electrical designs, support tendering and project execution, and provide specialist input to multidisciplinary teams. The role requires hands-on design, coordination with other disciplines, and oversight of testing, commissioning and documentation to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng in Electrical Engineering is required or preferred.
• PrEng registration with ECSA is required.
• Valid driver’s licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review electrical designs to project specs and standards.
• Perform calculations: cable sizing, voltage drop, short circuit, load flow.
• Lead concept and detailed design phases and site investigations.
• Ensure designs meet safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Manage the Electrical section and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Plan resources and track project schedules and deliverables.
• Prepare technical specifications, BOQs and procurement documentation.
• Support testing, commissioning and documentation during project close-out.

Job description

PURPOSE OF ROLE

We are looking for a Mid-level to Senior-Level Electrical Engineer to lead and manage the Electrical Engineering function within our design projects. You will deliver compliant, safe and technically sound electrical designs, support tendering and project execution, and provide specialist expertise to multidisciplinary teams, while upholding the highest quality and safety standards.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Electrical Design and Engineering Development

• Develop and review electrical designs in line with project specifications and standards
• Perform electrical calculations, including cable sizing, voltage drop, short circuit and load flow studies
• Participate in concept and detailed design phases
• Conduct site investigations and gather design input data for brownfield projects
• Ensure all designs meet safety, quality and regulatory requirements

Project and Technical Management

• Manage the Electrical section and coordinate team activities
• Plan and allocate engineering resources to meet project timelines
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines
• Provide input into project schedules and deliverables tracking
• Monitor progress and resolve technical issues during project execution

Tendering and Cost Estimation

• Analyse client requirements and define the electrical project scope
• Prepare technical specifications for procurement
• Compile Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and equipment classifications
• Contribute to cost estimations and commercial proposals
• Develop and review tender documentation and submissions

Project Execution, Testing and Commissioning

• Support fabrication and installation phases
• Participate in testing and commissioning activities
• Keep plant documentation updated and maintained
• Verify system performance against design requirements
• Provide technical support during project close-out

QUALIFICATION

• BSc Engineering or BEng in Electrical Engineering
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (PrEng) with ECSA
• Valid driver's licence

EXPERIENCE

• Mid-Level: Minimum of 5-9 years' relevant experience in multidisciplinary engineering design
• Senior Level: Minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in multidisciplinary engineering design
• Proven experience in energy, power generation, mining or heavy industrial projects
• Experience in design, tendering and project execution environments
