Job Summary

As a Snr Electrical Engineer, you will be required to offer your expertise within the electrical engineering aspect on a number of turnkey projects throughout the African Continent. You will be involved at the conceptual stage of projects to enable accurate budgeting and project planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical consulting services to our customers
• Produce and integrate engineering solutions/designs for asset creation on behalf of customers at various stages of the project lifecycle
• Interface with project managers and other engineering fields on design and implementation of projects
• Conduct technical evaluations supporting planning, design, and construction
• Perform project administration including preparing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals and correspondence, and completing progress reports
• Design and implement the pumping system of water abstraction plants, including piping to water treatment plants
• Design and implement pumping systems for water treatment plants and assist in constructing water treatment systems, e.g., sedimentation tanks, flocculators
• Design and implement chemical dosing pumping systems
• Design and implement pumping systems from water treatment plants to booster stations
• Follow safe work practices and company guidelines to ensure personal and team safety
• Design and implement all mechanical structures of water treatment plants

Qualifications And Experience / Minimum Requirements

• B.Sc. or BEng in Electrical Engineering; PrEng registration with ECSA
• Experience managing a team of junior engineers
• Minimum 15 years in engineering design, management, and construction
• At least 10 years' experience in electrical/mechanical design
• Extensive experience in design and construction of steel water pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, abstraction works, and water treatment plants
• Knowledge of Employee Equity Act, Labour and Employment laws, OHS Act, and design compliance standards
• Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and relevant electrical and water design software
• Driver's license is essential
• Ensure ISO compliance in quality management
• Willingness to undertake inter-provincial and international site visits and meetings
