Job Summary
As a Snr Electrical Engineer, you will offer your expertise in electrical engineering on various turnkey projects across the African Continent. You will be involved from the conceptual stage to ensure accurate budgeting and project planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical consulting services to customers.
- Produce and integrate engineering solutions/designs for asset creation at different project stages.
- Interface with project managers and engineering teams to design and implement projects.
- Conduct technical evaluations supporting planning, design, and construction.
- Prepare reports, gather information, draft proposals and correspondence, and complete progress reports.
- Design and implement pumping systems for water abstraction and treatment plants, including piping and associated infrastructure.
- Design chemical dosing pumping systems.
- Design and support construction of water treatment systems such as sedimentation tanks and flocculators.
- Ensure safe work practices following company guidelines and policies.
- Design and implement mechanical structures for water treatment plants.
Qualifications And Experience / Minimum Requirements
- B.Sc. or BEng in Electrical Engineering, PrEng registration with ECSA.
- Experience managing teams of junior engineers.
- At least 15 years in engineering design, management, and construction.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in electrical/mechanical design.
- Extensive experience with steel water pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, abstraction works, and water treatment plants.
- Knowledge of Employee Equity Act, Labour laws, OHS Act, and design standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and relevant design software.
- Driver’s license is essential.
- Ensure ISO compliance in quality management.
- Willingness to undertake inter-provincial and international site visits.
