Job description

Senior Drafstman required in Kya Sands, Johannesburg.

Seeking an experienced Senior Draftsman with a strong background in CAD+T software, ideally gained within the furniture, cabinetry, or shopfitting industry.

You will be responsible for producing highly detailed technical drawings and 3D models for production, collaborating with design and manufacturing teams to ensure accuracy, functionality, and optimal material use.

This role requires strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage multiple drafting projects simultaneously.

Salary: R35 000 – R45 000 CTC per month (negotiable based on experience).

Minimum Requirements:

• Relevant qualification in Drafting / Technical Drawing / Design or similar
• 5+ years of drafting experience, with at least 2 years using CAD+T
• Proven experience in furniture, cabinetry, joinery, or interior fit-out sectors
• Strong skills in producing detailed manufacturing and cutting lists
• Ability to interpret architectural and technical drawings
• Experience in working with production and CNC files
• Excellent attention to detail and time management
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with internal teams

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create and modify detailed 2D and 3D CAD+T drawings for production
• Generate accurate cutting lists, material take-offs, and CNC-ready files
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, and factory staff to ensure drawings reflect production realities
• Review project specifications, architectural plans, and site measurements to produce compliant technical outputs
• Maintain drawing revisions and update documentation in line with project changes
• Provide technical input during design development and assist in resolving design or manufacturing issues
• Ensure all drawings meet project deadlines and company drafting standards
• Support junior drafters and provide guidance where required
