Job summary

A leading company in the engineering sector is seeking a Senior Draughtsman to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks. This role involves on-site measurements, collaboration with production teams, and mentoring junior draughtsmen. The ideal candidate will have a Red Seal Certificate and significant experience in mechanical draughting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of post-trade experience as a Fitter & Turner.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical/structural draughting.
• Valid driver's license and own reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).

Job description

for a wide range of solutions.

As the Senior Draughtsman, you will be responsible for creating detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and fabrication designs using SolidWorks. The role involves on-site measurements, developing engineering-compliant designs, modifying and refining drawings, generating Bills of Materials (BOMs), and collaborating with production and sales teams. Additionally, the position requires mentoring junior draughtsman and occasional travel.

Responsibilities :

Create detailed mechanical designs and technical drawings using SolidWorks.

Conduct on-site measurements of components and products.

Develop general arrangement and detailed fabrication drawings to engineering specifications.

Ensure all drawings comply with engineering standards and company requirements.

Collaborate with production teams to refine and improve designs.

Modify and revise drawings as required.

Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).

Assist engineers in preparing project drawings and support the sales team with information drawings.

Provide guidance and support to junior draughtsmen.

Travel locally and internationally when required.

Requirements : Red Seal Certificate

Minimum 5 years of post-trade experience as a Fitter & Turner.

5+ years of experience in mechanical / structural draughting.

Proficiency in SolidWorks (Inventor / Vault experience is beneficial but not required).

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and mechanical components.

Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle (essential).

Computer literacy and the ability to manage design files efficiently.
