Responsibilities

Skills

Solid understanding of fire sprinkler systems

Familiarity with ASIB requirements

Working knowledge of FM Global standards

Over 8 years of drafting experience

Minimum 3-5 years in a supervisory role

Ability to prepare accurate material take-offs

Strong coordination and communication skills

Able to manage multiple projects

Education

NDip Electrical / Mechanical Engineering

Job Description :

1. Oversee day-to-day operations of the draughting department and supervise staff
2. Ensure all technical drawings comply with ASIB standards and FM Global requirements
3. Manage departmental resources including budgeting and allocation
4. Act as the main point of contact between the draughting department and other departments, clients, and stakeholders

Skills & Experience :

1. Solid understanding of fire sprinkler systems and their components
2. Familiarity with ASIB requirements (SANS 10287 : 2010)
3. Working knowledge of FM Global standards and approval processes
4. Over 8 years of drafting experience in fire protection or a related field
5. Minimum 3-5 years in a team lead, supervisory, or management role
6. Proficient in hydraulic calculations
7. Ability to prepare accurate material take-offs (MTOs)
8. Strong coordination and communication skills with experience working alongside engineers, project managers, and site teams
9. Able to manage multiple projects and effectively balance priorities
10. Good problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving design issues

Qualifications :

• NDip Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
• Certificate in Draughting
• Advanced CAD Certification
