Senior Director : Strategic Solution Sales
DP World City of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa
Responsible for driving solution sales within strategic client accounts and expanding and growing DP World SSA's commercial footprint by leveraging our end-to-end supply chain capabilities.

This role combines new sales (hunting) with strategic account development, ensuring tailored solutions that leverage our end-to-end supply chain and logistics capabilities are expanded and embedded within client accounts.

Responsible for driving revenue growth, increasing client engagement, and developing tailored solutions, selling additional services, and working with relevant stakeholders to implement solutions that drive growth and deliver value to clients.

Key Performance Areas :

  1. Formulate and execute a targeted commercial solution sales strategy, focusing on key strategic accounts while aligning with DP World Group, Pillar and SSA Regional priorities.
  2. Contribute to the commercial solution sales strategy, translating priorities into tailored strategies for key accounts.
  3. Identify and capitalize on cross-selling and upselling opportunities within key clients, leveraging our integrated logistics solutions.
  4. Drive new business development within assigned accounts, expanding our geographic and service footprint.
  5. Develop and implement account-specific growth strategies, working closely with client stakeholders to align with their supply chain needs.
  6. Lead the design, proposal, and implementation phases of solutions before transitioning execution to operational teams.
  7. Conduct market research and industry analysis to refine solution offerings and maintain a competitive edge within key accounts.
  8. Act as a strategic advisor to drive solution adoption and deepen client relationships.
  9. Position DP World as a trusted partner and thought leader, demonstrating the benefits of a solution-oriented approach.
  10. Develop and manage strategic relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within assigned accounts.
  11. Facilitate alignment across business units to ensure a unified approach to client engagement and solution delivery.
  12. Regularly engage with clients to identify growth opportunities and proactively address their evolving supply chain needs.
  13. Ensure effective pricing and margin management within key accounts, balancing competitive positioning with business profitability.
  14. Manage governance structures for key accounts, ensuring effective contract management, scope changes, and service agreements.
  15. Analyze monthly financial performance indicators and trends within key accounts, making necessary adjustments to optimize profitability.
  16. Contribute to the commercial budget and forecasting processes, ensuring adequate financial planning for strategic initiatives.
  17. Drive the technology and digital transformation agenda within key accounts, supporting the adoption of best-in-class commercial and sales processes (e.g., CRM systems).
  18. Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement in client solutions, ensuring value-driven differentiation.
  19. Maintain up-to-date documentation of solution proposals, pricing structures, and proof-of-concept presentations for key clients.
  20. Act as a key liaison between the client, commercial sales, and operational teams, ensuring a cohesive approach to solution delivery.
  21. Foster a high-performance culture focused on customer-centricity, innovation, and collaboration.
  22. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across all group operating entities within the SSA region.

Qualifications Required :

Experience and Skills Required :

  1. Minimum 8 - 10+ years' experience, including extensive experience in senior commercial roles.
  2. Experience in similar or senior executive role for a global supply chain multinational required.
  3. Thorough understanding of logistics and supply chain industry.
