Job description

Section Manager or other professional consultant or any other person appointed to supervise him / her from time to time.

PRIMARY POSITION PURPOSE

Provide and undertake complex design modelling tasks, prepare tender / construction documents, and provide technical support services to meet the requirements of the functional group and its clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Modelling and Detailing
• Develop Autodesk templates / Libraries and tools to maintain standards
• Programming within Autodesk (Visual Coding / Automation)
• Quality audit on outgoing drawings
• Standardisation of all drawings on project
• Visualization of 3D models of projects for presentations
• BIM implementation
• Handling all Autodesk troubleshooting and setting up of interfaces in respective department
• Participating in office technical discussions and project delivery meetings
• Mentor, train, and provide technical support to junior staff
• Conducting conceptual and detailed design and modelling to prepare technical drawings and documentation
• Provide practical and economical solutions to project deliverables
• Applying a deeper understanding of modelling principles to devise and deliver practical solutions
• Maintain a high level of modelling expertise and engineering knowledge
• Undertake supervisor roles and lead projects
• Contribute to the overall management and profitability of the functional group
• Ensure drawings and documentation are of the highest quality
• Maintain client satisfaction
• Strictly adhere to SMEC's Management System (MS) quality standards and OHS procedures
• Introduce Graduate Engineers to in-house standards and practical construction techniques
• Assist Project Managers with site queries and reporting solutions
• Work independently and be self-motivated to produce accurate models/drawings within deadlines

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

• Professional registration in drawing/modeling (Autodesk certification preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years in a similar position
• Experience in relevant projects
• Proficiency in Revit, Autodesk Relux/Dialux, or discipline-specific software
