Job summary

Praesignis (Pty) Ltd seeks a Senior DevOps & Site Reliability Engineer to design and maintain cloud-native platforms and infrastructure supporting critical applications. You will drive IaC, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and SRE practices to ensure reliability, security, and scalable deployments.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in related fields, 5+ years in DevOps, and 3+ years in production operations, with a preferred CS/IT/SE background and relevant Azure/Kubernetes expertise.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, infrastructure, cloud, or platform engineering.
• 5+ years hands-on DevOps experience and 3+ years in SRE/production ops.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/SE or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain cloud-native platforms and infrastructure.
• Develop and implement IaC and automation solutions.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Drive SRE practices including reliability, incident management and improvement.
• Implement monitoring, observability and proactive performance management.

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps & Site Reliability Engineer to join a team responsible for building and maintaining highly available, scalable, secure and automated technology platforms supporting mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain cloud-native platforms and infrastructure.
• Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation solutions.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Drive SRE practices, including reliability, resilience, incident management and continuous improvement.
• Implement monitoring, observability and proactive performance management.
• Champion DevSecOps, security and compliance across the delivery lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.

Minimum Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure, cloud, DevOps or platform engineering.
• 5+ years of hands-on DevOps experience.
• 3+ years in SRE or production operations environments.
• Proven experience supporting mission-critical enterprise production systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related field is preferred.
