Job summary

Mukuru is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to build, operate, and continuously improve our cloud platforms and delivery pipelines in a regulated fintech environment. You will collaborate with the Cloud Infrastructure Manager, Cloud Architect, Software Engineering, Security teams to ensure secure, observable, resilient, and scalable infrastructure.

Responsibilities include IaC, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, incident response, disaster recovery, and DevSecOps practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure or Systems Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with AWS; exposure to Azure or GCP is beneficial.
• Strong Linux administration in production environments.
• Experience with IaC, containers, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Loki).
• Proficient in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, or Ruby).
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Knowledge of PCI-DSS and ISO27001 is advantageous.
• Experience in fintech, technology, or high-growth environments.
• Solid understanding of networking, web servers, and databases.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate and improve cloud infrastructure across environments.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and automation.
• Monitor, secure and optimise cloud platforms for performance and reliability.
• Improve monitoring, alerting, observability, and incident response.
• Support redundancy, failover, backups, and disaster recovery.
• Collaborate with security on DevSecOps practices including vulnerability management.
• Work with software engineers to reduce friction between development and ops.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
• Research and evaluate new tools to improve platform reliability and security.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and drive continuous improvement.
• Invest in personal professional development and technical growth.
