- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Electrical Engineers, Software Engineers, and Product Managers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into the overall vehicle design.
- Utilize advanced CAD software (e.g., CATIA and SolidWorks) to create detailed 3D models, assembly drawings, and technical specifications.
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulation techniques to validate and optimize designs for performance, safety, and durability.
- Oversee prototype development and testing phases, working closely with testing teams to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Lead design reviews, ensuring all mechanical designs are innovative, cost-effective, and manufacturable.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including engineering drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical reports.
- Identify and resolve design challenges and performance issues throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical leadership to the design team.
- Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and technologies to incorporate the best solutions into vehicle designs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master's preferred).
- At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering focusing on vehicle systems and components (automotive or related industries).
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and FEA tools.
- Strong understanding of vehicle systems including drivetrain, suspension, chassis, and body structures.
- Experience with design optimization, materials selection, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for tackling complex design challenges.
