Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Dental Hygienist & Preventative Care Specialist for a state-of-the-art dental practice in Sandton, Gauteng. You will lead comprehensive hygiene care, educate patients on prevention and contribute to high-quality patient experiences.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma in Dental Hygiene, HPCSA registration, and at least five years’ experience in clinical prophylaxis, periodontal charting, and radiography.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution.
• Current registration with the relevant dental council (e.g., HPCSA).
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Dental Hygienist.
• Proficiency in dental prophylaxis, periodontal charting and patient education.
• Experience with digital radiography and dental practice management software.
• Strong understanding of oral pathology and preventative dental strategies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings including scaling, root planing and polishing.
• Conduct comprehensive oral health assessments and screen for periodontal disease and oral cancer.
• Educate patients on brushing, flossing and other hygiene techniques.
• Apply preventative treatments such as fluoride varnishes and sealants.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays).
• Manage patient appointments and maintain accurate records.
• Sterilize instruments and adhere to infection control protocols.
• Collaborate with dentists to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
• Stay updated with advancements in dental hygiene and preventative care.

Key Responsibilities
