Job summary

Our Client in the Insurance space is seeking a Senior Data Warehouse & BI Developer to join the data and analytics team. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise data solutions for BI, regulatory reporting, and financial analytics.

The candidate will work with data warehousing, ETL, data lakes, and multidimensional modelling, with exposure to cloud/big data technologies. Contract role based in Johannesburg, offering an hourly rate of R500 (negotiable).

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in Data Warehousing, Data Lake, ETL/ELT, and Kimball dimensional modelling.
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise Data Lake architectures and ingestion frameworks.
• Experience with structured, semi-structured, and streaming data in modern analytics environments.
• 5+ years in SSIS development.
• 5+ years in SSRS report development.
• 5+ years in SSAS cube development and MDX.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain end‑to‑end data acquisition, ETL, and data management solutions.
• Build and support data pipelines, data lakes, and enterprise data warehouse environments.
• Develop dimensional data models and BI solutions for regulatory, financial reporting.
• Manage data integration, QA, testing, and UAT activities.
• Monitor and report on data acquisition progress and reporting requirements.
• Troubleshoot data and system issues to ensure reliable data delivery.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements.
• Contribute to database design, optimization, security, and data governance initiatives.
• Support cloud, big data, and streaming data technologies where applicable.
• Apply structured problem‑solving approaches to meet objectives and deadlines.
