Senior Data Scientist Rosebank

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Co-conceptualise, prioritise, design, plan and adaptively manage data projects
2. Proactively and collaboratively identifying opportunities and/or improvements involving data
3. Co-developing and pursuing strategies and tactics to acquire, clean, analyse and interpret data (together with other functional teams)
4. Translating and communicating, as well as enabling & participating in conversations about sophisticated data concepts into appropriately accessible language
5. Conducting & Sustaining High-Quality Data Analyses, Analytics, Modelling, and Algorithms
6. Conducting exploratory data analyses to identify patterns, relationships, and anomalies
7. Developing, validating, and maintaining advanced data models (including predictive models) and algorithms
8. Using analyses and models to find, identify, generate, and test assumptions and inferences
9. Using machine learning for predictive modelling, classification, and clustering
10. Delivering consistently high quality and proactive service
11. Delivering an affordable and sustainable set of solutions and/or projects on time
12. Estimating work accurately
13. Ensuring code and delivery meet quality assurance standards for accuracy and performance
14. Staying up-to-date with industry and/or other relevant practices, developments, and trends
15. Identifying and completing relevant, valuable training and/or certifications as agreed

Desired Experience & Qualification

1. Minimum 5 years' experience in a data science role, including at least 2 years in a senior position
2. Track record of successfully managing and delivering data-driven projects
3. Minimum Master's degree or higher qualification in data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field
4. Excellence in quantitative analytics, statistical analyses, modelling (including forecasting & predictive analytics), multivariate testing & analyses, and optimisation algorithms
5. Strong experience building models collaboratively
6. Excellence in relevant programming languages, frameworks, and tools: e.g., Python, R, SQL
7. Experience using machine learning (frameworks and libraries) to create AI features
8. Advantageous: fluency in an African language

Package & Remuneration

R59 - R85 Ctc Per Month + Bonus (Negotiable on Experience)
