About the Role:

This pivotal role is responsible for managing the central data science platforms and services, ensuring analysts across the organization have the necessary tools and resources. This role also focuses on enhancing the data science skills of the team through training and development programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Management & Maintenance:

• Oversee the development, maintenance, and optimization of central data science platforms.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability and security of data science infrastructure
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for data science tools and platforms.

Data Governance & Security:

• Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations.
• Implement data quality and integrity measures.

Training & Skills Development:

• Develop and deliver training programs and workshops on data science tools and techniques.
• Mentor and guide analysts and advanced analysts in their professional development.
• Identify and address skill gaps within the data science team.

Central Services & Support:

• Build and maintain data science central services.
• Provide support to data science teams across the organization.
• Document platform configurations, procedures and best practices.

Tool Selection:

• Research and select data science tools.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years experience in Retail / Banking / Telecoms.
• Extensive experience in managing data science platforms and infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of data engineering, cloud computing and data governance.
• Experience in developing and delivering training programs.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and leadership skills.
• Experience with data science platforms and data warehousing.

Skills and Key Competencies:

• Technical skills- e.g., python, R, SQL, cloud platforms.
• Passion for data and analytics as well as data science and AI.
