Job summary

FNB is hiring a Data Scientist III in Johannesburg to plan, build, optimise and implement advanced quantitative analytical methodologies and mathematical models that provide analytical support and insights for business opportunities and strategy. The role focuses on financial crime analytics with collaboration across teams and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has an Honours degree in a quantitative field and at least 5 years in data analytics, with AML experience considered a plus.

Qualifications

Honours degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science or Engineering.
5 years’ experience in a data environment including analytical model development and implementation.
Experience in financial crime, fraud or AML is a plus.

Responsibilities

Plan, build, optimise and implement innovative quantitative analytical methodologies and models to provide analytical support and insights for business strategy.
Support and refine statistical models and data analysis to inform decision making.
Collaborate with stakeholders and communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
