The Role
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will leverage advanced mathematical modeling and algorithm development to solve complex problems in sensor technology, improving the software and algorithms that power our cutting-edge analyzers.
You will analyze technical challenges, lead solution design, and implement these solutions through hands-on coding.
What will you be doing with us?
- Algorithm Development: Design, implement, and ship high quality algorithms and models leveraging data from spectrometry and other optical data.
- Mathematical and Statistical Expertise: Apply sophisticated techniques such as multivariate analysis, optimization, and signal processing to enhance system performance.
- Software Development: Design software solutions and write high-quality code in Python.
- Experiment Planning and Execution: Plan and manage the execution of experiments and data collection drives with partners across the globe.
- Technical Problem-Solving: Do root-cause analyses on complex problems-to-be-solved, and define hypotheses for the team to test systematically to solve them.
- Collaboration: Work with a cross-functional team of hardware engineers, chemists, and other stakeholders to ensure the development and delivery of working, value-adding products.
- Documentation and Support: Create and maintain clear documentation of algorithms, processes, and solutions to support future development and troubleshooting.
What should you know or have?
- Extensive Mathematical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of mathematical and statistical modeling, including linear algebra, multivariate analysis, optimization, and signal processing techniques.
- 5+ Years of Experience: Proven success in a senior data science or algorithm development role, solving technically complex problems.
- Proficiency in Python: Strong coding skills with the ability to implement scalable, efficient solutions.
- Strong Understanding of Linux: Comfortable working in a Linux-based development environment.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Demonstrated ability to tackle high-level technical challenges and design innovative, effective solutions.
- Education: Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- English Proficiency: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
