Data Scientist / Algorithm Developer

Location & Salary

Location: Cape Town

Work Model: Flexible / Hybrid

Responsibilities

• Design and evaluate signal processing algorithms
• Develop and document data science architecture
• Independently build algorithms under senior guidance
• Collaborate with sports scientists to gather quality sensor data
• Create predictive ML models for team strategy insights

Required Skills & Experience

• BEng / BSc in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics
• Knowledge of signal processing (e.g. filtering, time-frequency transforms)
• Understanding of performance metrics (e.g. ROC curves)
• Familiarity with ML models: regression, decision trees, SVMs, neural networks
• Experience with tools like Python, MATLAB, Octave, or R
