Responsibilities :

1. Implement analytical algorithms for mixed integer linear programming problems.
2. Handle large-scale calculations of core datasets used in a production environment.
3. Apply a deep understanding of mathematical models and statistical frameworks for machine learning optimization.
4. Work in large-scale parallel computing environments.
5. Discover insights and identify business opportunities using algorithmic, statistical, and data mining techniques.
6. Contribute to strategic initiatives by leveraging the company’s extensive data collection into innovative IT solutions.
7. Establish accurate and scalable analytics systems.
8. Interpret results from statistical and predictive experiments, regression analysis, and incorporate findings into complex business processes.
9. Conduct customer specification studies, gather requirements, design system architecture, and develop final products.
10. Provide complete lifecycle development, deployment, and operational support for Big Data solutions and infrastructure.
11. Collaborate with team members to develop, automate, and deliver analytics solutions within Big Data clusters.
12. Manage data import/export using Sqoop between HDFS and relational databases.
13. Code and test data processing models such as Standardisation, Normalisation, Load, Extract, and AVRO, ensuring data validation.
14. Install, configure, and utilize ecosystem components like Hadoop MapReduce, Spark, Hive, Sqoop, Pig, HDFS, HBase, Cassandra, ZooKeeper, Oozie, Hue, Impala, and Flume.

Requirements

Essential Skills, Experience, and Qualifications :

1. Strong background in mathematics with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
2. Proficiency in Data Science and mathematical modeling.
3. Experience with AWS in a Big Data/Data Science context.
4. Proficiency in coding with Python and R.
5. 10+ years of extensive experience in the data science industry within fast-paced, complex business environments, including team leadership.
6. Extensive experience in applying Machine Learning to solve business problems.
7. Master’s degree in a related field such as data engineering, statistics, or mathematical modeling.
8. Preferably a PhD in a related field.
