Duties & Responsibilities

About : Assist the Data Science and Analytics team in developing and implementing data-driven monitoring, measurement, insights, and decision support. The role of the Data Scientist involves:

• Offering insights, optimizing decision-making through data science, and developing automated predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions that support various business operations and address healthcare issues.
• Participating in the entire data science development process, including understanding business needs, defining problems, data cleaning and feature engineering, modeling and simulation, hypothesis testing, training machine learning models, refining models, and deploying solutions.

Job Responsibilities / KPAs :

• Evaluate cutting-edge data science methods for predictive analytics products.
• Research data science trends, especially in healthcare applications.
• Engage with business stakeholders during discovery to identify opportunities, gather requirements, and discuss modeling outcomes.
• Collaborate with industry stakeholders to develop solutions for key business issues and create new business plans.
• Create conceptual models to meet corporate needs.
• Work with subject matter experts to identify relevant data sources and ensure models are delivered appropriately.
• Review and update data science policies.
• Present data insights and patterns clearly to support business recommendations, including visual reports and discussions.

Role Requirements :

• Degree (Honours, Masters, or PhD) in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
• Relevant data science certifications (e.g., Python, Microsoft, AWS, Hadoop, machine learning, cloud infrastructure).
• Minimum of 5-6 years’ experience in data science projects.
• Proficiency with Python/Microsoft ML, including tools like Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib, SciPy, and Jupyter notebooks.
• Experience with SQL and handling large-scale datasets.
• Knowledge of and practical experience applying machine learning techniques.
• Experience working in agile teams and operationalizing data science solutions in high-scale production environments.

Salary :

R55,000.00 - R66,000.00 per month, plus benefits including Fully Remote work, Pension, Medical Aid.
