Job summary

Our client in the automotive and data industry is seeking a Data Lead – Auto to join their team in Bryanston/Centurion with a hybrid working model. You will provide technical leadership and drive delivery and evolution of data capabilities within the automotive business, leading experienced data professionals and shaping data products for commercial impact.

Qualifications

Degree in data-related field or equivalent experience.
Strong experience with data governance, quality and regulatory requirements.
Proven leadership of data teams and delivery of data products.

Responsibilities

Lead design, development and optimization of data pipelines, models and platforms.
Translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
Provide technical leadership to data engineers and analysts.
Ensure data solutions follow best practices and are well-structured.
Design data architectures including data marts, integration layers and APIs.
Oversee data ingestion, transformation and integration across systems.
Improve platform performance and scalability.
Implement data quality controls and monitoring.
Ensure data reliability and availability of critical datasets.
Mentor and develop a team of data engineers and analysts.
Foster ownership, quality and continuous improvement.
Stay updated on emerging data technologies and practices.
Collaborate with Product, Business and Engineering teams.
Communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Support internal and client-facing data initiatives.
