Job summary

Jobgether is partnering to hire a Senior Data Engineer - Mobile Apps based in South Africa. You will design and operate data infrastructure for marketing, payments, product analytics, and business decision-making, ingesting data from ad platforms and payments into modern cloud environments.

You will own production data pipelines end-to-end, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure data quality, reliability, and timely delivery in an international context using Databricks, Airflow, and

Qualifications

• Proven data engineering experience with Python, SQL, Spark, and Databricks.
• Experience with Databricks Unity Catalog and Delta.
• Experience with Airflow for orchestration and pipelines.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, GCS and BigQuery.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a structured approach.
• Ownership of production data environments including monitoring and incident resolution.
• Familiarity with dbt and APIs from advertising or payment platforms.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and operate data pipelines supporting daily reporting, attribution, and LTV analyses.
• Ingest and transform data from ad platforms, payments, and product backends into Databricks environments.
• Orchestrate workflows using Apache Airflow with timely job completions.
• Maintain silver and gold data tables with data quality checks and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot production issues and recover failed daily runs within timelines.
• Improve data tooling and processes to boost efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with Analytics, Marketing, Data Science, Product, and Engineering teams.
• Manage multiple projects while upholding data quality and delivery standards.
• Contribute to agile data engineering practices and business context understanding.
