Job summary

VML is seeking a senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines powering digital and media analytics for tier-one clients. You will work with GCP, Snowflake, and Matillion to ingest, transform, and deliver data to Amplitude, Tableau, and other platforms.

You will ensure data quality, governance, and security while collaborating with analytics, product, and client teams. A hybrid work model is offered, with some expectations around flexible hours for global clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ engineering and development experience.
• Strong Client-facing skills and ability to manage multiple projects for enterprise clients.

Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Matillion and GCP to ingest, transform, and load data into Snowflake.
• Data Ingestion & Integration: Configure and manage data streams from CDPs like RudderStack, APIs, and data feeds for Amplitude readiness.
• Data Transformation & Modeling: Develop complex SQL transformations in Snowflake; design star/snowflake/data vault schemas.
• Infrastructure Management: Monitor and optimize GCP and Snowflake performance, security, and cost.
• Quality Assurance & Monitoring: Implement data quality checks and monitoring to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
• Reporting & Visualization Support: Collaborate with analysts using Tableau/Amplitude to meet reporting needs.
• Documentation & Governance: Create documentation and adhere to GDPR/CCPA and security standards.
• Collaboration & Innovation: Work with data analysts/scientists/product managers; stay updated on AI/ML data prep techniques.
• Automation: Automate routine data tasks with Python.
