Job description

Our Client, a Global Tech firm, is seeking Senior Data Engineers to join their team in Randburg on a contract basis. They offer stability, growth, attractive rates, and a great working environment.

Note: This is a full-time onsite requirement, and candidates are required to be fully vaccinated.

The Data Engineer role involves enabling the data lifecycle within EDS, specifically integrating data between the source system (golden/trusted) and the target database (LOB). The goal is to provide high-quality data by applying appropriate frameworks and governance, supporting BI and advanced analytics.

Key Roles and Responsibilities :
  1. Interpret requirements provided by the business and develop accurate and sustainable solutions from planning to production.
  2. Analyze, interpret, and visualize data sets to ensure data-driven solutions that address organizational challenges and needs.
  3. Ensure solutions adhere to standards and participate in reviews to ensure compliance with standards.
  4. Operate within project environments and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  5. Design and develop data models, ETL processes, and pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and analysis.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements, prioritize initiatives, and enable data-driven decision-making.
  7. Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to provide insights into key metrics and trends.
  8. Design and implement data quality and validation processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  9. Create and maintain documentation for data models, lineage, and flow.
Qualifications :
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent qualification.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of data experience.
  3. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts is advantageous.
  4. Experience with Ab Initio development (on-premises and cloud) is essential.
  5. Familiarity with UNIX, SQL (DB2, MS SQL, Netezza), and Oracle.
  6. Exposure to Azure Cloud.
  7. Agile working approach is essential.
  8. Self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
