Job summary

Confluent Services, South Africa's largest debt management company, is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Data Team. You will design, build and evolve data pipelines across on-premise and cloud platforms, with Azure-focused tooling and modern data practices.

You will work with senior engineers and data scientists, contributing to architectural decisions and AI/ML initiatives while delivering robust, scalable data solutions for analytics and business outcomes.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years experience as a data engineer or similar role.
Experience with data pipelines, data integration and ETL processes.
Strong knowledge of information technology data roles and data architectures.

Responsibilities

Contribute to architecture and design of the Confluent Data Platform and ingestion patterns.
Implement and support scalable data solutions on Microsoft Azure (Databricks).
Develop, maintain and optimise production data pipelines for ingestion, processing and transformation.
Ensure data security, quality and integrity across pipelines.
Collaborate with data product owner, analysts, data scientists and stakeholders.
Assist in data initiatives and support technical teams.
