Job summary

Placements24 invites a seasoned Senior Data Architect to lead our client's data strategy in Mahikeng, North West. The role designs, builds, and governs scalable data architectures to support BI, analytics, and data-driven decision making.

You will shape data models, standards, and governance, supervise ETL/ELT pipelines, evaluate technologies, and collaborate with engineers and business stakeholders to deliver secure, high-performance data solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in data architecture, modeling, and database design.
• Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale data warehousing and data lake solutions.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with multiple database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, NoSQL like MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS RDS/Redshift/S3; Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics; GCP BigQuery).
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, Talend, Apache Spark).
• Familiarity with data governance principles and tools.
• Excellent understanding of data security and privacy best practices.
